Training of Professionals

Small scale projects focused on the prevention of avoidable disabilities.

Objective is attitude change and awareness of health workers. They will become aware about their key role in providing health services to their community. By analyzing the causes of disabilities and the ways to prevent them in their village, developing a project and implementing it themselves with a seed capital from Karuna Foundation (200 euro per project), health workers get the opportunity to reducing the risks of developing a disability. Each project will be approved by the health management committee and implementation will be supervised by them as well. Karuna Foundation, together with the District Health Office will intensively follow and supervise the project during the 2 years. In this way we hope that the activities will be locally embedded after Karuna’s withdrawal.
