Shankar is an adolescent of 17 years old who is very social and likes to interact with people. He was was born with cerebral palsy which means difficulty with movement, speaking and swallowing because of stiff or weak muscles and tremors.  He explains that before Share&Care, he could barely speak and he wasn’t part of his community. Now, he is the chairman of the Youth Club! During a speech he has an inspiring story to tell, despite the difficulty and intervals due to the spasms: “Nobody saw and knew me. I didn’t know that I also have rights. Now, I’m standing in front of you to speak. I am so grateful to the Community Based Worker for his endless patience during the physiotherapy treatments and speech lessons. And I am very grateful to Karuna for showing our community the way.”
